OBJECTIVES OF THE SAMMELANA

To propagate the teachings of Sri Purandaradasa and other Haridasas through Bhajans , Lectures, Books , Meetings , Workshops & Seminars and Satsang.

ABOUT THE ABHS TRUST

ABHS was established in 1978 by HAridasa Kulatilaka Sri Gurugovinda Vittala Dasaru (1894-1983) of Mysore who belongs to the Haridasa Parmapara ofsri vijayadasaru. Sri Gurugovinda dasaru was given ankita and was initiated as HAridasa by Paramapriya Sri Thande Muddomohana Vittala Dasaru of Deverayanadurga 9tumkur Dist. JKarnataka). Sri Gurugovinda Vittala Dasaru has been Ankita Upadesha to over 260 Haridasas and Haridasees, authored over 50 books and installed panduranga Vittala in Mysore at Gurugovinda Nivasa.

The ABHS trust has been conducting fro 35 years every year HAridasa Smammelanna and Sri Purandara Dasara Aradhana in different parts of the Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nau and Maharashtra to spread the bhakti message of Acharya Madhwa through the life and teachings of sri purandara Dasaru and his followers. Over a lakh devetees hasve attende these annual events which have been blessed by a galaxy of Madhwa Peetadhipathis and lectures delivered by eminnent scholars.

Over one lakh devotees have attended these sammelanas during the past 35 years and have recieved the message of Haridasa which has deeply influenced their lives. The office of the Sammelana is located in Bangalore.

Future sammellannas cen be held at the invitation of local institutions, utts or Committees desiring such sammelannas to held at their locations. As desired by a large numbe of devotees from Bangalore, Sri Purandara Dasara Aradhana will be held in Bangalore,While the Akhila Bharatha HAridasa Sammelanna could be held at a different location hosted by the local devotees there.

Till 1983, Sri Gurugovinda Dasaru was chairing the Sammelanna. Subsequently , his eldest son Sri KArunya Vittala Dasaru (Sri M.G.Gururaja Rao was chairing the Sammellanan. From 2001 Sri Mukunda Vittala Dasaru 9Sri M.G.MAdhava Rao, Third son of Sri Gurugovinda Vittala Dasaru ) is chairing hte Sammelanan and isalso the presifdentof the Akhila Bharatha HAridasa Sammelana Trust.
It was an ardent wish of Sri Gurugovinda dasaru that a haridasa Centre should come up in Bangalore which was developing into a centre for intensive study of sarva moola granthas and the abode ofMadhwas peetadipathis, research centres and a large number of scholars expounding Haridasa literature through their profound pravchanas.

Devotees who been greatly benefitted spiritually and in many other ways through their participation in sammelanas have been expressing a deep desire for a Haridasa Ashrama in Bangalore which is now a sadana Kendra for Madhwa Sasthra Adhyayanan and Haridasa Sahitya Prachara.


Aroud 1994, Bangalore became the centre of the trust as the yyayavara activity which is the bedtock of Haridasa Sampradaya was establisehed in Bangalore through the sustained and meticulously organised work and dedication of late Sri.H.S.Srinivasa Murthy of S.S. Book Emprium, HAnumatha NAgar, BAngalore, treasured of ABHS trust. Sri Srinivasa Murthy built a tema of haridasas for conducting yayavara in over 2000 houses in Bangalore from September to jauary every year.

In 2006 by the grace f Sri Hari Vayu Gurugalu, the trust secured about 6,000 square feet of elevated land (adjacent to the varaprada Balale Sri Laxminarasimha Swamy temple) in Raja Rajeswari Nagar, BAngalore which is easily approachable (2 Kms. ) from the ring road via hoskerahalli Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt , Bangalore and is bout 4 kms from Poorna Prajna Vidya Peetha.

Sri Sri 1008 sri Vignanaidhi thirtha Swamiji of Sri Sripadaraja Mutt laid the foundation stone for the temple complex at Abhijan Muhurtha on 30th June 2006 and blessed the project. Sri Sri 1008 sri Sushameendra Thirtha Swamiji of Manthralaya Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt graced the occasion.

In May 2008 on Akshaya Trutiya Sri Sri Vignanidhi Theertha Swamiji of Sri Sripadaraja Mutt and Sri Sri Viswatheertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt installed the idols of Panduranga Vittala, Rukmini Devi, Avatara Trayopeta Mukhyaprana Devaru, Mruttika Brindavana of Sri Sripadaraja, Sri Raghavendra Swamy and idols of Sri Purandaradasaru, Sri Vijayadasaru, Sri Gopaladasaru and Sri JAganathadasaru. nitya Poja, Hastodaka and thsavas ad Aaradhana of installed yatigalu and Haridasasa are being celebrated. Special Poojas are conducted on all festival days.

Haridasa Ashrama has aproposal for a Haridasa Library with collections in Sanskrit, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, English, Hindi and Marathi, A cassette library of Bhajans and songs and a study centre with all facilities to devotees in Bangalore to develop their spiritual resources and lea dna enriched life of divine quititude. Shorlty, HAridasa Pracharaks will be appointed to propofgate Haridasas' teachings.

Over 12000 sq. ft. area has been built up so far at the temple complex. Rooms are availabel for stay aof sadhakas who desitre to undertake Parayana of Sarva Moola, Suladi compositions , Homa Havana or other Programmes of their family. Next to Devakarya, Pitrukary being important arrangements can be made at the temple for performing Pitrukarya on the specified day each year.

THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THE ANUGRAHA VITTALA TEMPLE IN BANGALORE

The unique feature of the Anugraa Vittala Temple in Bangalore is that the sacred Mruttika gathered from several holy places across the country is installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Mruttika Sangraha has been done from the follwoing sacred locations:
Badari, Haridwar, Mathurs, Sukhatal, Kurukshetra, Ujjaini, Pushakara, MAtrugaya (siddapura) , Dwaraka, Naimisharanya, Prabhasa, Sudhamapuri, Vayi (sangama of Krishna, Gayathri, Savithri and Veena rivers) Kolhapura, Mangalagiri (Narasimha), Bhadrachala, Srikurama 9visited by Achary madhwa), Puri Jaganath, Gaya, KAsi, Ganga Sagar, Brahma Putra river, Vasista River,, Tirupathi, Srisailam, Tiruvannamamalia. Tiruloilur (Trivikrama temple), Kumbakonam, Srirangam, Srimushnam, Vriddachala,MAdurai, Tankavoor, Tiruvanathapuram, (Ananthapadmananbha), JAnardhana (kerala), KAnaakmari, NAgercoil, Suchindram (Hanumantha), Totadtri, Rameswaram, NAvapashana, Daushkodi, Darbhasayana, Honnali(Tungabhadra), Udupi, Kokke Subramanya, Hemavathi river, Belegiri Ranga, Pandarpur, Muktinath Gandaki river, Janakapura (seetha rama swaymavar place).
